Eifelland-Racing – Germany’s powerhouse for developing future champions

Deutsch

Since creating Eifelland-Racing in 1979, Albert Hamper and his crew have put together a race-team that has nurtured and developed a huge amount of motor-sport driving talent and has therefore played a key role on the international stage. A fully qualified Automotive Engineer, Hamper raced cars himself, was German Autocross Champion and won races in Formula Ford single-seaters.

Hamper played an important role in the outstanding career of Formula One driver, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, who participated in the Formula Ford 2000 Championship with Hamper in 1987 with former British chassis builder Adrian Reynard’s test car. Current BMW-Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld is another F1 star who came under Albert’s wing and who started in 1994 with a Hamper-built Formula Ford 1600 MK1 car, securing no less than eight class wins. And then there were the Schumacher brothers – Michael and Ralf – who also got their first Formula Ford racing experience in Albert’s stable.

It is not enough to have great driving talent; a real understanding of mechanical grip will be of great importance in the development of any driver with Formula One ambitions. Vast experience across a wide variety of disciplines in motor-sport, and solving problems, is what makes Eifelland-Racing so valued amongst its drivers. Formerly a Formula Ford team, Eifelland has switched to Formula BMW (after Formula Ford, created in 1967 by John Webb and Geoffrey Clark in the UK, seemed to take second place to Touring Cars in Ford’s declared priorities).

In 1993 Hamper was the sole German Formula race-car Constructor with his MK1 FF driven by Mario Hilgert and this laid down the foundation for Eifelland-Racing’s future Formula Ford successes.

Eifelland-Racing offers modern team management, media services and client hospitality for sponsors as well as driving, testing and technical training.

Albert has its own famous race-driving school too and teaches at the SNS/sport driver-young talent-School, which is the place to obtain the DMSB “A” licence.

Part of the Team’s technical inventory consists of hightech timing and scoring electronics equipment and the latest EDV-supported data acquisition systems. Not only does Eifelland-Racing provide assistance to talented drivers, but the organization also offers race parts, service and custom-made fabrication to local racers as well as to other teams on the tracks. From chassis/body fabrication and rebuilding to technical support and sales of racing parts for current or historic racing machines, the Dudeldorf-based Company offers the right professional know-how and a competent service for every race-car enthusiast.
